CT scans. Experimentation with Biomedical Imaging.
CT scans is a site-specific exhibition project consisting of a series of digital sculptures and a video-projection that were created by submitting the models chosen by the artist to a medical (CAT) scan. Using tools from the fields of medicine and industrial design, Iñigo Bilbao portrays the external, changing, temporary appearance of the models as well as their more lasting and solid internal structure, their bone structure, as part of a project that investigates the connections between art and medicine.
The work was produced and first presented within the Projects Office programmed of LABoral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial, Gijon/Spain.
